Bridgestone recommends choosing an EV-ready tyre for your electric vehicle. EV-ready tyres are engineered for lower rolling resistance to optimise range, extra load capability to handle the weight of the vehicle and lower noise to optimise comfort.

If you want to use a regular Bridgestone tyre that isn’t EV-ready, at the time of publishing there is no roadworthy requirement to have an EV-ready tyre. There may be tyres that are suitable to use. However, as these have not been designed with EV usage in mind there may be compromises in durability, range and noise.

Bridgestone EV-ready tyres are also compatible with combustion engine vehicles. The extra load carrying capacity means that they will equal or exceed the requirement for your vehicle, the noise reduction technology will also help to reduce tyre noise on your vehicle and the rolling resistance reduction will also help to improve the fuel economy of a combustion engine vehicle.
